Meet the Chef
Celeste discovered her love for food by the age of 11 and decided that she wanted to become a chef. No force on earth could stop her once she made up her mind. Surrounded by the unique taste of Oudtshoorn, she very quickly started delving into culinary arts and explored her passion early in life. Following her graduation at Zevenwacht Chef School through City & Guilds London, she completed her Advanced Diploma in Culinary Arts & Patisserie.
Different countries, different flavours
South Africa became too small for this ambitious young lady so in late 2007 she set her path to London where she had the opportunity to work under Master chefs and culinary experts. During her time in London, Celeste was Sous Chef at Inn The Park Restaurant, St James Park London under the expertise of Chef Oliver Peyton.
She soon thereafter advanced to London Street Brasserie as Head Pastry Chef under Chef Paul Clerehugh where she had the privilege of baking for an event attended by Prince Charles & Camilla, duchess of Cornwall.
Back in South Africa
Returning home after two years of overseas experience Celeste had the opportunity to broaden her experience and worked until retrenchment. Celeste then decided to start her own business and delivered home cooked meals to families in Secunda, expanding bit by bit and growing everyday until 3 years later she finally had the opportunity to open her very own Coffee shop.
Looking forward she will always be on the outlook for more opportunities to grow and expand. Every day will bring new challenges, luckily Celeste is always up for a challenge, so watch this space… she’s not done yet.
